Takuwa has been involved in flood control, disaster prevention, and mitigation projects in Japan for over 50 years.
In the pages, you can see our main business and the business we are working on for the future.
Since its founding, Takuwa has been working on the development of water level gauges for over half a century.
When a river rises and floods, the most important type of data is the water level, which determines whether residents in the river basin should evacuate. Even in normal times, the water level is also the most important type of basic data for determining positions and elevations of weirs, embankments, and other river structures. Water level data is also used to calculate a precise water balance of domestic water or water utilization and to determine the amount of water to be released from a dam when a typhoon or heavy rain comes.
Takuwa boasts a domestic market share of over 60% for water level gauges. This high market share is proof that the technological development and high product quality that Takuwa has been working on for half a century have earned it the trust of the national and local governments.
Water is the most basic and most important element of the global environment. It does not only exist in oceans and rivers. Water exists in various forms in the environment surrounding us, such as groundwater, snow, glaciers, and water vapor in the atmosphere. Therefore, in order for people to coexist with water, it is important to know about “water merged into the environment”. Based on the technology cultivated in water level gauges, Takuwa is working on developing technologies to measure water merged in the environment in various forms.
Learn more about our environmental sensing technologyOur gate opening meter used to measure the degree of opening of a sluice gate and our flow direction meter are installed in river structures, and our synchro sensors used for positional alignment are employed on production lines in factories and on cranes at construction sites. These products help to stabilize people's lives, which are sustained by the circulation of water, from both flood control and water utilization perspectives, and support industries that form the basis of people's lives.
