Aiming to be a Professional who can See into the Environment - The value of Working at Takuwa

At Takuwa, our employees are always trying to be aware of the importance of training themselves to broaden their horizons and deepen their thinking in their daily work, by thinking about how they can make the people around them happy, rather than thinking only about themselves and selfish concerns.
Problems cannot be solved through fights. Problems cannot be solved without consideration for others and wish for the happiness of others. The way to make yourself happy is to make others happy.

The Value of Working at Takuwa

Takuwa is a manufacturer specializing in the production of devices designed for disaster prevention.
Takuwa manufactures devices to measure changes in the height of river water (water levels) and devices to detect the occurrence of sediment-related disasters. Such devices are installed in rivers throughout Japan and in locations where there is a risk of sediment-related disasters as part of national projects for disaster prevention and mitigation, to preserve human life and property.
Although Takuwa is a manufacturer, it also undertakes emergency response services in which our employees rush to the scene at any time, 24/7, when requested by the government or local administration in the event of storm damage, flood damage, or landslide.
Having continued the business for over 50 years, the Company has earned the deep trust of the national and local governments.

With this in mind, I would like to talk about Takuwa as a public institution.
By “Takuwa as a public institution” I mean something along the lines of “Takuwa belongs to the society, not to any specific individual or shareholder.”
Water level gauges are installed in class-A rivers administrated by the national government and class-B rivers administrated by prefectures. There are 14,000 class-A rivers across Japan. There are 7000 class-B rivers across Japan. Currently, there are approximately 5,000 water level observation stations to measure water levels on the rivers. Approximately 60% of the water level gauges installed at the observation stations are manufactured by Takuwa.

* Takuwa products are serving important functions in the aftermath of the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred in January 2024. Even at this very moment, Takuwa instruments continue to function perfectly to prevent damage from floods and landslides all over Japan and to protect the lives and property of people living in river basins.

The Value of Working at Takuwa

There are many Takuwa water level gauges installed over more than 50 years all over the country. What would happen to Japan if, for some reason, Takuwa were no longer able to maintain the devices or provide emergency response services? More than half of Japan's emergency response system would collapse. In other words, Takuwa's business is part of the society, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that it is the property of the society. The reason I say that Takuwa is a public institution is because of the high level of social contribution it makes.
So, what I want to strongly convey to you about Takuwa as a public institution is not to boast, “Takuwa is a great company, isn’t it? Rather, it is that Takuwa has a great responsibility.
Takuwa provides measuring devices and detection devices that are installed in many places across the country to protect the lives and property of people living in river basins. Takuwa is a company that has been entrusted with heavy responsibility and is fulfilling it.
Now, the fact that the Company you will be working for is a public institution means that it must be a company that is trusted by the society. Consequently, Takuwa must be a group of people in which each and every employee is trusted by the society. All Takuwa workers have a sense of mission and responsibility, and they work hard at self-improvement in order to become people the society can trust, and they come to work every day with pride.
