Takuwa has instilled the concept of risk assessment (RA) within the Company and encourages all employees to proactively take risks and take on challenges.
During the past three years, when economic activity has stagnated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Takuwa has not simply sat idly by. In preparation for the day when the pandemic subsides and economic activity gets back on track, the Company has taken a moment to look back at its circumstances and increase our customers' trust in us. In the meantime, we focused on instilling the RA concept in our employees.
At our ISO45001 certified company, the importance of RA has been continuously emphasized within it. In today's world, where the future is uncertain and society is in turmoil, what is necessary for companies and individuals to survive is to always take risks into consideration when taking on challenges. RA is a way of approach to estimate how much risk can be tolerated in taking on a challenge. The Company is actively creating opportunities to allow workers to make use of RA in business.
The technology for measuring water levels has started to make drastic change. Engineers have developed remote sensing technology to determine amounts of water on Earth from a satellite. It indicates that people have entered an era in which conditions of oceans, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and ice sheets can be observed in real time. Technology that enables data on terrestrial phenomena to be collected and analyzed from space has allowed researchers to gain a clearer understanding of the dynamics of water flowing on Earth and the state of water circulating in the atmosphere.
Takuwa, regarding the technological change as a revolutionary change in the business environment, believes that the time will come when the water level gauges currently in use will become obsolete. The change will not happen immediately, but Takuwa believes that the time will come within the next 10 years.
So what should Takuwa do when the time comes? To think about it, let’s take a brief look back at the path that Takuwa has taken.
Takuwa's history began in 1968 with the launch of its digital water level gauge. Starting with the digital water level gauge and also quartz water level gauge, which are specific to Takawa, Takawa has developed devices for erosion control and road surface management, created its own markets, and grown by making achievements and trust in every business. In other words, Takuwa has always paved the way for its own future. Takuwa has created markets by plunging into worlds where it had no experience, and has been making achievements and trust there. Takwa will not change this stance in the future.
Back on topic,
Takuwa, having sensed the change in the business environment, has already started development in two directions. One is to add value to our current water level gauges, and the other is to develop products that meet the needs of a sustainable world. The Company will be now moving forward with the development of products in the two directions as quickly as possible. The latter in particular is a new challenge for our company, as it is a type of product development that differs from our previous development. Takuwa is a company that “creates totally new products, sells the products in the world, and competes in the world”. Takuwa will continue to renew itself, create new markets, change the world, change itself, and survive as the times change.
