Message From President

Welcome to the official Takuwa website.
In the world, there are currently structural changes in all of our surroundings, such as politics, economy, society, culture, and climate, causing old systems to stall and malfunction.
This has resulted in global-scale social issues related to war, terrorism, infectious diseases, poverty, education, resources, and technology. It may be right to say that all of these have stemmed from human selfishness. “Putting self-interest first” means “disregarding the needs or aspirations of others.”
This is nothing new. When looking back in history, almost all of the societies in the past were developed by self-centered people who disregarded the needs and aspirations of others. This means the idea of putting self-interest first is generally predominant in the world. This way of thinking has steadily spread throughout the world, reaching an almost intolerable level.

Message from the President

About seven years ago, I wrote a message about improving our understanding of water and keeping the environment healthy for future generations. If we are to survive on Earth, we need to better understand water and learn to coexist in a symbiotic relationship, just like our ancestors did. But humankind does not appear to have given much thought to this issue over the last seven years.
If anything, we are in a worse situation now than we were back then.
Our world has been created through human self-interest. Today we face a range of challenges. Water is a vital resource central to all forms of life on Earth. Many of our global challenges today are associated with water.
Yet instead of concentrating on our own planet, we go in search of water on the Moon and Mars with a view to creating sustainable new worlds there.
I do not see life on the Moon or Mars as an attractive or desirable end in itself.
I do not understand why we have seemingly abandoned our commitment to water here on Earth.
I want to change this mindset. We should not have to move to Mars; we should be remaining here on Earth.
From the depths of my concern, I have concluded that what we need is the very opposite of self-interest. The only way forward, I believe, is for each and every one of us to embrace the spirit of altruism.

Message from the President

Altruism means to put others ahead of yourself, to think of their needs rather than your own. On an individual level, being altruistic may seem at first like a negative; but if we step back and take the broad view, we see that the positives will eventually outweigh the negatives.
Switching to an altruistic mindset is certainly not difficult. Put simply, it is the idea of putting the happiness of others, and society as a whole, ahead of yourself. Eventually you will be repaid in kind for your altruism. Society also will benefit. In this way, you increase the amount of happiness not only for yourself, but for wider society and for the whole world.
In my opinion, this is what defines a truly sustainable future for humanity.
I should point out here that I am certainly not demanding, or indeed expecting, that we all suddenly turn into altruistic beings. Rather, what I am saying is that when we are faced with a difficulty or challenge, perhaps we should alter our perspective, and take a different approach.
Personally, I do not want to move to Mars; I’d rather stay here on Earth. So I have decided that I want to run my company with the spirit of altruism at its core.
My goal is to transform Takuwa into a company that exists not simply for the purpose of maximizing corporate value, but also as a means to generate social value. To do this, we must first define the forms of social value that we want to deliver, and then decide how to deliver them in the spirit of altruism. At Takuwa, we define social value as helping to tackle major challenges such as poverty, education and the environment, motivated by the spirit of altruism.
It seems that our world today is built purely on self-interest. Think how much we could achieve if all the people on the planet, on a personal level, were to work together with Takuwa in the spirit of altruism!
We could create a world where humankind exists in a harmonious relationship with water, a world that is truly sustainable.
My vision is to work together with everyone in the spirit of altruism to create a sustainable world.
It would be my greatest joy to witness the birth of a truly sustainable world here on planet Earth. I believe in the endless potential of humankind, if we all embrace the spirit of altruism. Together we can do this. Join me in the quest to create a sustainable future together.
