At Takuwa, "sustainability" means using water wisely and promoting water recycling and reuse, to ensure that our planet has sufficient resources. We must learn to treat water with respect, just as we treat each other with respect. We should treat everything and everyone in the spirit of altruism.
That is all we need.
Our founder Masaji Okuda was inspired by the ethos of coexistence with water. He believed that rivers deserved the utmost respect, and throughout his life he strove to commune with and learn from rivers.
At Takuwa, we believe that learning to coexist with water will provide us with a path forward to a truly sustainable future while at the same time helping us to address the global water shortage. To this end, we commit to upholding the vision of our founder as the foundational base of our operations, together with the more recently introduced ESG principles.
In a world of plentiful water resources, with free and fair access for all, there will no longer be disputes or conflicts over water supplies, and people will be able to live their lives peacefully. This in turn will encourage greater consideration for others, along with greater respect for the environment and human rights, creating a world where peoples of all races and nationalities can thrive. Social systems in which all live in peace and harmony cannot exist without free access to water. Social systems with plentiful water resources will last for eternity. This is the true meaning of sustainability.
In order to create a truly sustainable world, Takuwa is committed to sustainability management practices centered on the ESG principles.

To this end, Takuwa has identified eight materialities. Protection of water resources is the starting point, providing a solid foundation for addressing the eight materialities in turn, which will ultimately help us to tackle the major issues of our times: the environment, poverty, and education.

To this end, the ESG Committee was set up in 2024 to identify and oversee the implementation of ESG programs and initiatives at the company-wide level.
The ESG Committee, made up of senior company officers, managers and executives, with the president as chair, is dedicated to delivering a more sustainable future and maximizing the enterprise value of the company by identifying and addressing key challenges in the three key fields of environment, society and governance.
For a company to be able to justify its existence in the world, it needs to clearly articulate its values and objectives. It should display humility and a positive, can-do mindset. It should actively listen to the views and opinions of external voices and third parties, and must never be self-righteous or judgmental.
At Takuwa, we will never put self-interest first, or disregard the needs and aspirations of others. Our very existence is predicated on altruism. As part of the Takuwa mission to help create a more sustainable world, the Board of Directors, comprising both internal and external directors, oversees our work in tackling social and environmental challenges to ensure that we are operating in the true spirit of altruism. The Board is also closely involved in decision-making processes.
At Takuwa, we are committed to manufacturing processes that don’t pollute our water supplies, preserving the planet for future generations.
Most modern nations, particularly the newly emerging and developing countries of the world, are keen to pursue a growth trajectory. Population growth, however, drives higher levels of economic activity and steadily increasing demand for water, which in turn leads to conflict over access to finite water resources.
At Takuwa, we believe that the spirit of altruism can be used to resolve disputes over water. Humankind must unite as one to address the key challenges of protecting and preserving our shared water resources for the benefit of future generations.
We see ourselves as a citizen of planet Earth charged with a sacred duty to care for our precious water resources. Protecting our water resources is the same thing as protecting life on Earth. It is effectively a commitment to delivering a cleaner, brighter future for all.
The Takuwa vision is of a sustainable world blessed with plentiful water resources, a world where all peoples enjoy equal access to water, a world where humans live by the core principle of harmonious coexistence with water. In order to achieve this vision, we need the private sector to recognize and actively engage with the major challenges of the day. Companies, like any other constituent element in society, cannot function without water. It follows that a company that refuses to engage with social challenges will not survive. At Takuwa, we understand this very well, which is why we are actively working to address this major challenge.
In order for societies to be able to work together with the environment to protect our water resources and build a more sustainable future, we need to truly understand water, and we need to learn how to respect water and use it wisely.
Takuwa produces environmental solutions featuring advanced sensing and other technologies that contribute directly to conservation of water resources. By helping to conserve water, our products also contribute indirectly to addressing major social challenges in the spirit of altruism.
Reliable access to water represents the foundational basis of all human endeavor. Takuwa is committed to maintaining access for all peoples and achieving harmonious coexistence with our water resources. To this end, we are working to strengthen our governance procedures to ensure our continued survival as an enterprise. Improved governance enables us to work towards our goal of a sustainable world, to ensure our own survival, to maintain society, to conserve and protect our environment and precious water resources, to earn a positive reputation and standing in society, and to function effectively as an organization.
