Section 1. Thriving With Water

As a result of the selfishness of humans, who have prioritized living a prosperous life without considering how to use water responsibly, the previous balance of coexistence between people and water has been destroyed. If this continues, humans may one day be unable to survive on this planet.
To overcome this crisis and secure a future for humanity, we must first reestablish the peaceful relationship that we once had with water as soon as possible. We must work to restore coexistence with water by abandoning our selfish and self-centered attitudes toward the use of water.

People No Longer Commune With Water

Humans originating in ancient Africa set out on a hunting expedition to find a way to live. They came to a great river and learned farming there. They spent a lot of time building an amicable relationship with the river and benefited from its water, leading to the development of a prosperous and stable society. Ancient humans had coexistence skills to commune and thrive with water.

With the blessing of water, humans started prospering, and the foundation of their livelihood changed from small villages initially to large cities and towns. Today, humans are striving to achieve further wealth, in search of richer lifestyles, by developing a water utilization technology to not only produce food but also pursue their own convenience and profit.

Let's take a moment to think about this. Do modern humans have a good relationship with water, like ancient humans?

With a surge in the industrial use of water due to the Agricultural Revolution and subsequent Industrial Revolution, humans gradually became inconsiderate of water and at some point started unilaterally exploiting it instead of coexisting with it.

Due to their insatiable exploitation, the balance of coexistence has been destroyed on a global scale, and water is now becoming a threat to humanity.

In response, humans are trying to control water by developing water control engineering to maintain the quality of their current lifestyles.

The relationship between people and water, which used to be the foundation of human prosperity, has drastically deteriorated.

Crisis Caused by Self-Centered Human Behaviore

Crisis Caused by Self-Centered Human Behavior

We should remember that it all started with humans, who have changed. Water has never changed its behavior. Nevertheless, humans shortsightedly started seeing floods, which were used to turn lands into rich farms in the agricultural age, as a “rebellion of water” once lifestyles were urbanized, and tried to control water with a dominant attitude.
As a result of the selfishness of humans, who have prioritized living a prosperous life without considering how to use water responsibly, the previous balance of coexistence between people and water has been destroyed.
“Water will always be around us.” Humans took it for granted when they lived in harmony with water. Water was available whenever necessary. What made us think like that? We must have seen water as a fair-weather friend. Getting used to the idea that access to water is always guaranteed, we have become increasingly arrogant toward the use of water without realizing it. Now that the relationship between people and water has been destroyed, the water on Earth is more critical than ever.
Great rivers and lakes are drying up at a drastically rapid pace, the sea has been fatally contaminated, and the sea water temperature is rising toward world destruction. If these continue, humans may one day be unable to survive on this planet.

To Thrive Once Again With Water

Water is the foundation of our life and also our best partner. However, as already mentioned, the water on Earth is now in danger due to our own behavior.
To overcome this crisis and secure a future for humanity, we must first reestablish the peaceful relationship that we once had with water as soon as possible. We must work to restore coexistence with water by abandoning our selfish and self-centered attitudes toward the use of water.
Water means a lot to us, like our families and friends. In that sense, now is the time for us to reconsider how to deal with water by using it wisely and thinking seriously about what is best for this irreplaceable resource.
It is obvious that we are no longer able to maintain the quality of our lifestyles by using or controlling water for our own good. We should return to the basics of using water, not in a selfish way, but with the respect, awe, and affection that ancient humans had.
To restore this former relationship of coexistence with water, we at Takuwa will find a way to give the best to water by measuring it and understanding its characteristics through the use of our accumulated technologies, creating the trigger that will change human behavior.
Solutions to immediate problems are not universal. Water changes its features from time to time. Humans need to understand every momentary feature accurately and learn flexibility to change their own behavior according to it.
We will create a system that allows society to live in harmony with water through wise use in the spirit of altruism instead of self-centered control.
By sharing our technologies with the world and installing this system, we aim to achieve a society of coexistence between people and water: that is to say, a truly sustainable world.
